Digital badges & quizzes

Our LMS system contains numerous DIY (Do It Yourself) courses and lessons with which young and old learn to draw in 2D and 3D, use the machines in a safe and correct way, program … In addition, we use gamification technology to allow users of the platform to acquire additional skills. One of the elements embedded in the LMS is the acquisition of digital badges.

SDG's, 21st century skills and CT

The LearnMakeShare environment contains numerous do-it-yourself projects consisting of hands-on activities and tutorials. You learn how to work independently with the different tools on the basis of tutorials.

The SDGs are a blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future. With FabLib, we want to contribute to this by offering meaningful activities that refer to these SDGs.

All activities are also linked to 21st-century skills and, where possible, also to computational thinking.

MAKE

Our drawing software

Our LMS is unique because in one and the same online environment, in addition to the learning material, the users can also use all additional tools to design, make or program things.

For example, you can create your own designs in our online drawing software and send them directly to the vinyl cutter or laser cutting machine.

The connection between software and hardware is therefore very simple in our system.

A 3D slicer

Normally you need different software for each machine to be able to manufacture your design. This is not the case with our LMS! You can immediately connect all our machines from the LMS. The vinyl cutter, laser cutter, 3D printer and CNC machine can be used without additional software.

If you already have a 3D printer, don’t worry: our software supports 30 different brands!

Micro:bit & Code Blocks

Learning to code is best with the Micro:bit. Children take their first steps using code blocks, and can later switch to programming languages such as Javascript and Python.

All-in- one package

With FabLib we want to keep the threshold for setting up a Makerspace as low as possible. We do this by offering an all-in-one package, consisting of all kinds of digital fabrication devices, an online learning platform with excellent learning materials, qualitative training programs and online support in the programming of manufacturing activities and maintenance of your devices.

Young and old can work remotely and at their own pace! Our digital platform is completely in the cloud and can be used anytime, anywhere.

No installation problems, just a browser and internet is needed to boost your creativity in our learning system!

Training & support

How do you actually get started with FabLib? Providing the right support is necessary to successfully start up a FabLib in the library and maintain it in a sustainable way.

For this we offer training courses for library staff and volunteers who want to support FabLib in your library. This training can be offered both physically and digitally.
